Investment ManagementFixed Income Investing

For those who require present income in their portfolio or an asset allocation balance for their equity investing, Fremont National Bank & Trust Company offers a structured bond investment strategy usually consisting of constructing a "bond ladder". A bond ladder is the purchase of a number of different bonds that mature in different years.

For Example:

1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 year bonds, so as they mature, you are replacing a bond with the longest maturity in that ladder. In this example . . . a 5 year bond.

In this way we minimize risk that interest rates will be unusually low or high and we can produce a nice, steady stream of income for our clients. In addition to this risk minimizing strategy, we also purchase bonds of investment grade quality. We believe that the return of a client's principal is more important than trying to stretch into "junk bonds" for a couple extra percentage points, by putting principal at undue risk.

In addition to standard bonds such as U.S. treasuries and agencies, corporate bonds and municipal bonds, we also invest in a carefully chosen selection of convertible bonds and preferred stocks. These are an excellent source of both income and principal growth for risk-averse investors unwilling to fully jump into the stock market.

As demonstrated, we have investment options available for every type of investor. Contact Us for a no fee, no obligation meeting to discuss your investment needs.
