Use a check card for auto payments!

If you set up automatic recurring payments with your utility or insurance company, give them your check card (debit card) number rather than your checking account number. This acts as a layer of security, eliminating the need to release your checking account number. Payments will still be made from your checking account. Should your check card number ever be compromised, you can request a new check card, and your checking account will still be safely intact.
