• What type of computer do I need to run Online Banking?

  Any IBM compatible computer and most Macintosh* computers that meet the following requirements can access Online Banking.

  • Operating System:

• What if my computer does not have 128-bit encryption?

  If your computer does not currently use 128-bit encryption, simply follow the appropriate instructions for your browser listed below. If you have questions or need additional help, Contact Us.

• What type of browser should I use?

  You will need a 128-bit encryption* browser to use Online Banking. Using the recommended browser will provide the best web site performance and should have the latest security features to protect your online banking and shopping.

  If you are an AOL user, you will have the best response from the system if you sign into AOL, minimize it and use another browser.

  *	128-bit encryption, or domestic grade, is the most secure method of transmitting sensitive information. • What are the recommended settings?

  For optimal view, you may need to adjust the display settings on your computer. We recommend the following display settings:

  Screen Resolution: 800 by 600 pixels or larger

  Display Font Size: Normal size, Small fonts, or size 10 or larger

  Browser Font Size: Medium Fonts, Normal, or 100% (Original Size)

  Desktop Schemes: Standard themes, no customization

   

• How do I change my display settings?

  To change your display settings, follow the instructions below:

  Microsoft Windows XP or 2000*

  From the Start menu, select Control Panel >> Display, (this may be Settings >> Control Panel, then open the Display icon). From the Display Properties dialog box:

  Screen Resolution:

  • Select the Settings tab.
  • Move the Screen Resolution or Screen Area slider to 800 by 600 pixels or larger.
  • Push Apply to confirm this setting.

  Display Font Size:

  • Within the Settings push the Advanced button.
  • Within this dialog box under the General tab, locate the Display Font Size drop-down menu; we recommend selecting Normal Size or Small Fonts.
  • Push OK to confirm this setting.

  Appearance Scheme:

  • Select the Appearance tab.
  • For the Scheme drop-down menu, we recommend selecting one of the Windows XP, Standard or Classic schemes.
  • Push Apply or OK to confirm this setting.

  Apple Macintosh OS X†

  From the Apple menu select System Preferences....

  Screen Resolution:

  • From the hardware group select the Displays icon.
  • Select the Display group button in the upper center.
  • In the Resolutions list select 800 x 600 or larger.
  • Click on the Red X bubble on the upper left corner to dismiss this window.

  Display Font Size:

  • From the Apple menu select Control Panels >> Appearance. 
  • Select the Fonts tab. 
  • Set the Views Fonts Size to be 10 or larger.  

  Appearance Themes:

  • From the Appearance Control Panel window, select the Themes tab. 
  • We recommend selecting the Mac OS Default or iMac theme.
  • Click the Close Box to dismiss the window.

  To change your browser font size, follow these instructions:

  From the browser's View menu, select Text Size >> Medium

  Mozilla Firefox‡:

  From the browser's View menu, select Text Size >> Normal

  Apple Safari†:

  From the browser's View menu, select Make Text Bigger or Make Text Smaller

• Why should I accept Cookies?

  Your browser must accept cookies in order to access Online Banking. Online Banking uses a cookie to maintain authentication between our application server and your browser. This cookie holds a key, which is used to verify customer authentication. This ensures that we are maintaining a secure connection. When registered users terminate their connection to our site, this cookie is deleted. If your browser does not accept cookies, we are unable to maintain authentication between your browser and our application.

  Fremont National Bank also uses a persistent cookie to personalize the display of information for you. For example, a persistent cookie enables you to set which entry page (personal or business) to use as the site's home page.

  All Fremont National Bank cookies are encrypted to help prevent being hacked. For security purposes, the information collected in the information will not be your Social Security number, password, or other personal information.

• How do I accept Cookies?

  Your browser must be configured to accept cookies. Follow the instructions below to configure your browser accordingly:

  Microsoft Internet Explorer*:

  • Select the Tools option from the browser's toolbar.
  • Select Internet Options from the drop-down menu.
  • A new window will appear, select the tab titled Security at the top of this new window.
  • Click on the button titled Custom Level.
  • Scroll to the section titled Cookies.
  • Select Enable for the following options:
         - Allow Cookies that are stored on your computer.
         - Allow per-session Cookies (not stored).

  Mozilla Firefox†:

  • Select the Tools option from the browser's toolbar.
  • Select Options from the drop-down menu.
  • Choose the Cookies tab.
  • Check Allow sites to set Cookies.

  Apple Safari‡:

  • Select the Safari menu from the top of the screen.
  • Select Preferences...from the drop-down menu.
  • Choose the Security icon from the top icon row.
  • At Accept Cookies, choose either the Always or Only from sites you navigate to radio button.

• Can I use the back button?

  Once logged into our site, using the back button on the browser can end your session.  In order to navigate successfully, use the buttons and links provided on each page.

• What if the Account Information is not displaying correctly?

  Often times, problems with account information displaying incorrectly are related to your computer’s display settings.

• Why should I clear my cache (Temporary Internet Files)?

  It is recommended to clear your cache regularly, or your browser could crash or manifest other problematic symptoms. Clearing your cache can significantly improve the speed and performance of your browser while removing unintended stored content in the process.

• How do I clear my cache (Temporary Internet Files)?

  Microsoft Internet Explorer*:

  • From the Tools menu, select Internet Options...
  • On the Internet Options dialog box and within the General tab, locate the Temporary Internet files grouping, push Delete Files...
  • On the Delete File dialog box, check Delete all offline content and push OK to confirm this action.
  • After returning to the Internet Options dialog box, push OK to dismiss the window.
  • The cache is now cleared.

  Mozilla Firefox†:

  • From the Tools menu, select Options...
  • On the Options dialog box, select the Privacy icon.
  • Locate the Private Data grouping and push Settings...
  • On the Clear Private Data dialog box, make sure that Cache is checked.
  • Push OK to confirm this setting.
  • On the Options dialog box, push Clear Now. Although the browser does not provide feedback to confirm this action, the cache is now cleared.
  • Push OK to dismiss the Options dialog box.

  Apple Safari‡:

  • From the Safari menu, select Empty Cache...
  • When the confirmation "Are you sure you want to empty the cache?" appears, push Empty.
  • The cache is now cleared.

• Why did I receive the message "This page contains both secure and non-secure items"?

  Some information on the web page, such as graphics, are not transmitted via a secure connection; however, all account information is transmitted using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL). SSL is used mostly in communications between Web browsers and Web servers. URLs that begin with "https" indicate that an SSL connection will be used. A secure site is one which supports SSL.
